Michael Esquibel Arts, Trades & Heart Scholarship
The Michael Esquibel Arts & Heart Scholarship celebrates students who use their hands, minds, and hearts to create — whether through art, performance, or skilled trades.
Each year, the Play With Heart – Michael Esquibel Athletic Foundation awards scholarships of **$1,000–$2,500** to New Mexico students pursuing post–high school education in **the visual or performing arts, or skilled trades** such as welding, woodworking, design, construction, or other creative vocational fields.
Recipients may also be considered for renewal if they maintain academic progress and continue developing their craft or trade.

💰 Award Amount: $1,000–$2,500 (renewable consideration)
🌎 Eligibility: Open to **all New Mexico high school seniors and recent graduates** pursuing a degree or certification in the arts or skilled trades.

• Financial need (brief statement)
• Alignment with our mission: *Helping student artists and tradespeople achieve their dreams.*
**Required materials:**
• Short personal statement (300–500 words): *“How I ‘Play with Heart’ in my art or craft”*
• Portfolio, trade samples, or project photos (upload or links)
• Unofficial transcript
• One reference (teacher, mentor, or coach)
