**Exclusive to St. Michael’s High School**

The Michael Esquibel Athletic Scholarship honors the memory of St. Michael’s alumnus and multi-sport athlete, Michael Alfred Esquibel.

Michael’s spirit of leadership, teamwork, and faith continues to inspire those who play with heart — on and off the field.

Each year, the Play With Heart – Michael Esquibel Athletic Foundation awards up to **two scholarships of $2,500 each** to St. Michael’s High School student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding character, dedication, and resilience.

📅 **Application Deadline:** April 30, 2026

💰 **Award Amount:** Up to $2,500 per recipient

🎓 **Eligibility:** Open to current St. Michael’s High School students who participate in at least one school-sponsored sport and plan to continue their education at a college, university, or vocational/trade school.

**What We Look For**

• Leadership on and off the field

• Dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship

• Academic effort and community impact

• Financial need (brief explanation)

**Required Materials**

• Personal statement (300–500 words): *“How I ‘Play with Heart’ as a student-athlete at St. Michael’s”*

• Unofficial transcript (PDF)

• 1–2 references (coach, teacher, or mentor)

• Optional: photo or short highlight video link
